General Rules for Fishing Club Waters
1. The club year is from March 1st until the last day in February the following year. After that date, no fishing is allowed until a current year card is obtained. Memberships must be renewed before the end of March. After that date the joining fee must be paid.
2. Fish must be retained in keepnets ONLY. Minimum size for keepnets is 3 metres long by 38cm diameter knotless. All carp must be returned to the water immediately, not placed in keepnets (with the exception of matches - see match rules)
3. Barbless hooks only.
4. Only 1 hook per rod is allowed. Two rods may be used within arms length at any one time provided that the ‘second rod’ fee has been paid and the membership card stamped accordingly. All rods must be removed from the water if the angler leaves his peg.
5. All waters to be approached by the proper paths. Banks must not be disfigured. Close all gates and use stiles provided.
6. Members must clear all litter from their pegs before and after fishing, failure to do so will result in the loss of membership.
7. Bloodworm and joker are banned on all club waters.
8. All anglers must have in their possession when fishing a landing net and disgorger.
9. Members intending to fish Tanners Dam, must dip all nets (including landing nets) in the tanks that are provided by the gates, prior to fishing.
10. Any member or visitor to the club must be prepared to have his or her box searched by another member.
11. Membership cards must be carried at all times and shown when requested by the bailiff or any other member.
12. NO NIGHT FISHING !!
13. Members and visitors must return all coarse fish to the water.
14. All junior members must have written permisiion from parentsor guardians to fish alone except on the Royal George Complex and Valehouse Reservoir, where an adult must accompany juniors.
15. On waters where no temporary memberships are available, members may apply to the committee if they wish to accommodate an out of town angler, where special permission may be granted.
16. Parking is available in the main car park by the entrance to Tanners’ site and on Shaw Hall Bank Road for the Royal George. Vehicles must not be left in front of nearby houses or block any access routes. At ValeHouse Reservoir, member parking is available by gate/key access (which must be closed again immediately afterwards) immediately alongside the dam wall, for its length down the reservoir.
17. Fishing from permanent pegs only on Tanners’ Dam.
18. Tents and Bivvies, must not be used at any club waters. If shelter is required, then a fishing umbrella can be used.
